Couldn't watch the game but watched the highlights.

1. Smith sucks
2. What is Marino doing? The 3rd Wild goal is a bit, maybe ok you can cut him some slack, but that pp goal? No idea what he's doing.

Mercer can’t buy a goal. Don’t know what’s up him. And the Devils should have buried this game but they love to let you sweat.
it’s not just that he can’t buy a goal, it’s that he’s not getting opportunities. It doesn’t feel like he’s due, like he’s piling up shots and chances but getting unlucky. He’s been anemic AND he’s not finishing the meager chances he’s getting.

Win and we're on pace for 112 points and everything is good and right and we will celebrate another successful season before awaiting a glorious playoff challenge.

Lose and we're on pace for 92 points and all is lost and the world is a vampire and it will be time to trade the core for parts before they get too old and lose all their value. :shakehead

The choice is yours, Devils.

Looks like it was Door #1 tonight.

Party on, HSF! :yo:

Gotta love the offensive depth. Some players and hot and others are either lukewarm or cold. Look at Haula this year so far.
Haula and Toffoli are true offensive depth though it is nice that Haula isn't snake-bitten like he was last season.

Bratt is basically the 1b to Jack's 1a in terms of offensive stars.

He took over the game basically when Jack had a bit of a pedestrian outing on the scoresheet.

But what really impresses me is his improvement on the Defensive end.

He outright saved a goal by stealing the puck at one point from a Wild player in front of Vitek.

He's also been throwing the body around as well, and he's bulked up to the point where it's no longer easy to knock him off the puck anymore.

When Smith makes a mistake he sure does make it prime time in the spotlight. No little puny misplays for Brendan. That’s the 2d time this year he’s whiffed at a bouncing puck and his man has gone in alone and scored. The difference tonight was his man was already behind him so his only play was to knock down that puck.
I wish I saw the Maroon goal, apparently he walked Smith from what I was told?

Edit: just saw it, Maroon didn't walk him but Smith played that pretty damn bad.

Oh, and one thing I forgot. Toffoli just buries his chances. I never gave him much thought before he came to the Devils, but wow.
Shoutout Mercer for sucking so hard we might be able to keep him. What a team player
Yeah the Toffoli contract talks will be interesting. Originally I went into the year thinking he would just fill up a top 6 spot for the year to give us help for the playoffs but wow has he exceeded all expectations. He fits this team like a glove and I want him extended asap. Him & Hughes have insane chemistry & we finally found Hughes his true winger. Toffoli is the perfect trigger man & is exactly what this team has been lacking for years. Only issue is going to be idk how we will fit him with the Mercer contract due (I know Mercer has played like dog shit but the dude is still going to get his extension with a raise). If I'm Fitz I'm now making it #1 priority to get a Toffoli contract done. But you know he's going to ask for 8 million & it's going to be hard for us but when you see chemistry like this with your star winger, you best make sure you make that contract happen. Figure out the cap issues later.
