OT: why is winnipeg in 3rd with 38 points?

ok can any one answer why the hell winnipeg is in 3rd with 38 points? it was carolina before that .. why is it that these teams keep in 3rd while being beat in every stat in the standings and haven played 2 more games?

i need answers .. this is bugging me so please help lol

Because Winnipeg is the division leader. Top 3 in the standings are the division leaders.
