Why has a swedish player never won selke?

I've always felt like the Selke is awarded based on reputation to the same 3-5 guys every year. Never bought into it too much as an award.

Curious to see if a guy like Couturier gets into the mix this year.

That's the problem, as great defensively as he is/was, he was always 2nd best on his team in that regard.
