Not always. In the recent Heritage Classic, the Oilers coach figured out by 2nd period the ice is as bad as should be expected outdoors and greatly simplified their game. Jets kept playing fancy and nothing worked. When you look at Minny, they have so much outdoors experience they know how to play those games. At least that's the theory.
