He lost fair and square to peak Kucherov + Drai past 2 years. So it's hard to say.
Kucherov looked insane 2 years ago. Even last year, after a slow start, he was back to pacing the Edmonton duo in the second half. Then led league in playoff points, and is off this year. So we haven't really yet had a chance to see Kucherov "come down" from his peak form yet outside of a slow start to last season. I want to see if he goes back to that 128 point form next year or not, but if he does he can absolutely rival McDavid for the Ross
Then there's Drai. He outproduced McDavid last year, all year long. Even this season, for a long time he was close till McDavid distanced himself. So I'm curious to see if Drai is able to outdo McDavid again, in a fair race. I think there's a chance we see it again.
Mack is great. Panarin has been producing at a very high clip. Matthews has a great core in Toronto, will score a ton of points. Eichel has to peak some day. And within 4 years, who knows what someone like Lafreniere might even do.
I voted the field. I could see it being 2 and 2 though. I'd be extremely impressed if he wins 3, let alone 4. He could though - certainly talented enough to do so
