Though I appreciate the effort, I can't read Shawn's stuff ever since he tried to say Terrance Amorosa has an NHL future based on a mini-game drill during development camp. Fair or not, credibility evaporated quickly in my eyes.

The frequent and recurring grammar mistakes don't help, either. If you're not a strong writer and you're not reporting anything that we can't see for ourselves, you shouldn't waste your time expressing your opinions through amateurish articles. Those opinions belong on message boards with the rest of us. But in the digital age, everyone thinks they should be a journalist...

I'm not sure about Rantanen over Barzal, and I'm not even concerned about our offensive, defense is our #1 problem.

Not to pile on but a fair amount of strong opinions were being drawn during that. I've never seen someone take so much out of something so minuscule.

Ironically I believe he said Drake wouldn't amount to anything based off of that camp. Drake went on to play more in college this year than Amorosa. Now I don't have any hopes for Drake (or Amorosa for that matter) but I'm not using some glorified practice sessions in the middle of the summer as any evidence of that.

Nothing against the THW, just not a fan of Shawn.

"Future scout" Shawn Reznik

"Robert Hagg is closest to ready out of all the d prospects". Why, because he is fairly built? He's probably the least ready IMO, just baseless assumptions there.

I've seen Meier consistently ranked lower and lower in the draft rankings from all sources where is he expected to go?

And uh let's cut the author a break eh?

disappointed most by how Couts was said to be only a 3C, and how we are looking for our 2C. I think its the total opposite where we have too many centers.

I think you build down the middle -- centers, D, goaltending.

If you could have Giroux, Barzal (for example), and Couturier down the middle -- that's legit. That's right there with soon being the best group of top 3 centers in the league.

You go Giroux-Couturier-Laughton, eh... that's counting a ton on Couturier to improve his offensive game (which I think he can do, but he hasn't shown quite enough to rely on it yet, aside from he's proven to be on the cusp of a dominant 3rd line center for the next decade).

Laughton, I like him, but he's no cornerstone. I think a great 4th line center, and could easily be shifted to 3rd line LW.

I'd just LOVE to have a legit offensive 2nd line center, let Couturier be an awesome two-way 3rd line center, and this team would be set for years.

It's amazing how high we can be on Morin, Gostisbehere, and Sanheim, but how stingy we get when it comes to Laughton.

The kids got skill. Let's not sell him short. He created things at the NHL level last year. With more experience, more of those will convert, but he's a player and should get a chance to prove himself a key centerman in the future.

He was the 4th line center on the WJC team.

When you start counting on 3rd and 4th liners as 2nd liners, you get into deep ****.

Lol, what? First of all, Morin was even less important at the WJC but fans are far more bullish on him. But more importantly, WTF does his WJC role matter?

Wayne Simmonds was also a fourth liner at his WJC. Certainly didn't stop him from becoming a top six forward. You can do the research on it, there are several examples per year.

Well that's it guys, you heard it here first, he was a 4th liner at the WJC, he might as well retire already... the bum.

While we're at it we might as well try to trade off #7D Morin for a 7th round pick before he gets stuck in the ECHL and we can't get anything for him.

What a stupid and thoughtless comment... think before you type.

No he wasn't. He primarily played wing on a line with Horvat and S. Reinhart during the tournament. For the most part, the only time he played center was on the PK with Leier.

And Claude Giroux couldn't even make 4th line centre on TCs Olympic team. :sarcasm:

The guy was the 4th centre on the best hockey producing nation on the planet. And you're using that against him?

...

Reinhart centered Domi and Duclair on the dominant top line the entire tournament.

I don't mind if you don't like the way I write or the grammar mistakes, but please don't put words in my mouth. I mentioned Amorosa twice in my development camp reports last year, both times I wrote he's in the beginning stages in his development, showed a nice skill set for a 5th round pick, and "assuming he develops as well as he did over the course of last season, many fans might wonder how the Flyers were able to grab him in the 5th round". I never claimed he had an NHL future. Maybe if he develops well over the next three years at Clarkson, he might. I only wrote that I saw things I liked in his game.

Another thing, I take it the majority of the people on this Flyers board don't watch much junior hockey or see any of the top prospects on a daily basis. Therefore, many people "can't see for themselves" what prospects have to offer other than what they presume based off rankings by CS, ISS, and the like. Those rankings don't go into detail as to why they place prospects where they do, where as I try to not only give a scouting report of the prospect, but justify why they are ranked where they are.

But I digress...
