It all depends on who they get a 4; if they pick up Strome/ Marner I could see them going for D like J. Roy, Carlsson, Zboril or Kylington, but if they take Hanifin at 4 I could see them going with a skilled 2-way forward like White, Harkins, Eriksson Ek or Svechnikov if available. I think it would be good if the Leafs could pick up another first and/or recoup a 2nd

We should be trying to trade up from the nsh pick to target a mid/late teen pick and nab Svechnikov, Harkins, white unfortunately I think all will be gone by 23/24

Not sure if this works here but what if we package the Nashville pick with a player and try to trade up?

I'm thinking something like Nashville + Gardiner + Leipsic for Carolina's pick.

I think there will be some surprise's at Nashville's pick, there has been a wide choice of players here and not a definite consensus with most of the scouting services and I think with our new scouting, Dubas and Hunter, they may be able to ferret out a good prospect, that will be able to help with the rebuild

I like Jansen Harkins (a good solid center) and Brandon Carlo (a big smooth skating D) but come Draft Day it could be someone not even close to my picks but a player Hunter and Dubas, have scouted and I trust them to pick a gem.

Connor, White, Meloche, Roy, Ek Eriksson or Harkins. Otherwise, the people are either reaches or are ridiculous drops.

Luckily there is no shortage of good options at this spot.

Really is a key pick with nothing in the second round.

You gotta think that since we don't have a 2nd round pick that our scouts might consider a guy who is ranked in the 2nd round who they think highly of and take him with this pick. I could see that being a guy like Dunn or Senyshyn tbh.

Or they could take the probably better player, ranked where they're picking. You're saying you'd prefer one 1st and one 2nd round talent over two 1st round talents?

We should be trying to keep guys like Gardiner and Leipsic... we need to be trading guys like Kessel.

I'm saying that some players who are ranked early in the 2nd round are better than some of the players ranked in the late 1st round. If we had our 2nd round pick we could have picked them in the 2nd round possibly, but since we don't, so you got to think that maybe management might take them around the 22-24 area instead if they really like the kid.
