I was wondering wich player made you most anxious with the puck during a game. To me : Montreal : i would say Kulak. I never know what he will going to do with the puck. When domi decide to play alone will bring few turnovers too. Outside montreal : i would say. : david pastrnak. Hes litteraly floating on the ice, especially on PP. auston matthews too. Can shoot from everywhere and his stick release is awesome.

I remember that there was a defenseman that played for the Habs around the late 00’s or early ‘10s that made everyone here very nervous whenever he touched the puck, but I can’t put a name on it. We had a bunch of washed-up vets throughout that era. Was it Murray? Was it Tomáš Kaberle?

Probably Marc-André Bergeron, even if he had an incredible shot and played during the magical 2009-10 season, IIRC he made more turnovers than Pillsbury?

I would love to say Janne Niniimaa, but I honestly don’t remember seeing him play (which is probably a good thing).

Ryan O’Byrne after his own-goal made us nervous too.

There was also a goalie we had in the ‘10s that kept giving ugly rebounds, was it Ben Scrivens or someone else? Budaj at the end of his stint with the Habs?

Alex Kovalev also made me nervous, for both good and bad reasons, depending which night. He was so creative with the puck that he could do something marvelous, but he could also be lazy at times.

For positive reasons, young P.K. Subban when he was skating around everyone in the offensive zone.

So, more that those two had me on the edge of my seat than made me nervous in the usual sense I guess.

Honorable mention to Scott Gomez every time he tried to deke everyone only to be lose the puck at the blue line.

TL;DR:
  • O: Puck hoarders
  • D: Old offensive Ds barely good enough for the NHL
  • G: Juicy rebound specialists
  • Reclamation projects

There's way too many tbh hahaha... Definately o'byrne, gill, tinordi... These type of players that were much, much better if they would never, ever touch the puck actually, i always liked beaulieu's mobility but that pea sized brain of his made me nervous a lot... way back, breezer for sure lol... Too many to remember all of them, been a habs fan for 20some years now, lot's of very bad habs teams end of 90's and early 2000's, i don't know that i want to look back at the rosters we had back then tbh lol, just remembering some of the names is making me anxious and uncomfortable lmao

I will be honest

Petry is a name that came to my mind

With is ice time he is more turn over prone but the last 2 years has been less worse.

I guess people will bring a lot of defenseman.

Gomez pissed me off for a long time lol had so much control then he’d gain the o zone and just skate to the corner and lose the puck

Not nervous, but Subban used to put my heart in my throat. I remember those series against Boston in the mid 2010s, I think he had the entire stadium on their feet every time he made a play

He does have a bad (+/-) and can turn it over but we have had trouble finding a LD partner for Weber, Subban, and Petry now. Petry is a victim of having to carry his partner for a while now and tries too much than he should because of it

What about Patch? Great shooter but terrible with the puck for a guy with his skill. He was not a great passer if you ask me. He typically gives the puck away just as much as he takes it away

What about Leclair in his own end and neutral zone? (With the Habs and not with the Flyers of course). Down low on the offensive end, he was a beast

There's always certain dmen every season that will make you nervous with the puck. If you can't think of any players making you nervous with the puck, then you got a dream team.

Brisebois at the very end of his first run when his confidence was shot and he was just a shadow of his former self was pretty nerve-racking to watch. You could almost feel his anxiety through your TV screen, I've rarely seen a guy want the puck less.
