After Friedman’s tongue & cheek comment about Holl being available to the Leafs, there’s no reason we shouldn’t have a Justin Holl post, to track where he ends up Friday.

He actually hasn’t been bad (at all) for Detroit. That’s the fun part of it all. He’s just the victim of a numbers game that’s not going to improve as Detroit’s young dmen start arriving.

He’s likely on the move. The only question is where? Let’s see how great of a manager Yzerman truly is. He’d lock up “greatest manager ever” if he somehow moved him back to Toronto. That ship has likely sailed though.

In all seriousness, he’s a RHD, who will end up playing a role somewhere. If Philly moves Walker and Seeler, he’d be a type who could be a fit there. Anaheim? San Jose? Calgary maybe? We’re gonna find out, just what other managers think of Holl. Especially if Detroit would retain any of his salary.

He could get Holl to Toronto pretty easily. He would have to get him to waive his no trade though.

No one. Holl is a soft 7th D whos prone to giveaways.

Maybe Yzer can dump him to his hometown minny or a rebuilding hockey club.

Don't see a trade for Holl. If not part of a bigger package.

He'll rebound next year and then we will see a trade.
Rebounding implies you have a better place to bound to. Just because Holl became part of the Wings roster doesn't mean he suddenly became some sort of hidden gem. He sucks, he has always sucked, he will always suck. The only reason he made it into the NHL was because he got traded to Toronto, a team well known for playing on hard mode by trying to have possibly the worst defensemen in the NHL.

Yzerman made a mistake signing him.

Same was said about Chiarot, and he is currently not the same player disaster he was year ago.

Chiarot sucked. And he is fine now.

These things will happen.

Chiarot was a well respected defenseman in the league. Holl has always been a joke.

To San Jose: Holl 3.4M cap hit and real dollars for each of the next two seasons.

For

To Detroit: Nikolai Knyzhov owed 1.4M in real money but is buried in the minors with a cap hit of 100K.
