I’m going Nash-Panarin-Jones.

All three adept at both carrying and scoring. All three a minimum of at-least-redeemable in their D zone. Nash not a great faceoff guy that’s the only hang up but not a wing that never takes draws.

Doing that so we get at least a little cross-era history. But this season does hold some promise with Laine-Gaudreau-Werenski.

I am SHOCKED! Come on people...you have to start by winning the opening face-off. Y'all got this wrong, the correct answer is...

Bread-Manny-Jonesy

Manny was a great face-off guy, serious wheels, the flair for scoring big goals and was defensively responsible. He would have been The perfect 3v3 OT center.

Joking aside, you need someone for 3-on-3 to take the face-off and immediately leave the ice after that.

2012-13 Dubinsky won 58.3% of his face offs. Throw him on the ice with Panarin and Jones, and then Dubinsky leaves the ice for Laine if they win the faceoff. If not, he stays in the ice to play defense.
So you need four guys. You breaking the rules. You didn’t start the thread so you can’t change the question 😉 Not to mention Manny’s FO win percentage was better than Dubi.

Panarin - Jeff Carter - Seth Jones

Honorable mention to Voracek, Fedorov and Gaborik

Panarin doesn't need explanation.
Carter wins you faceoffs and gets you points.
Jones is/was an absolute monster in OT and can/could defend.

Some more interesting choices in this list: NHL Records

Could you imagine a young Jagr or a young Federov in 3 on 3 OT?

I went looking for team record for face off winning percentage in a season but couldn’t find it. I didn’t spend much time looking, but I did make an attempt. So I checked Dubi’s individual seasons and found his best. Anyway, this is HF. You should be glad I came close to answering the question instead of turning the discussion into something about the Maple Leafs.

400+ face-offs for the season:

Top Ten
2007-08 Manny: 59%
2012-13 Dubi: 58.3% (took just 439 FOs that season, every other player in top ten is 800+)
2008-09 Manny: 58%
2000-01 Kevyn Adams: 57.4%
2018-19 Dubi: 57.1%
2001-02 Silly: 57% (2000+ FOs...wowza)
2002-03 Silly: 56.5%
2005-06 Manny: 56.4%
2011-12 Vermette: 56.3%
2010-11 Vermette: 55.6%
--------------------------
Other notables...
11 2017-18 Boone: 55.5% (also 12 @ 55.2% and 13 @ 55.1%) He is crazy consistent.
16 2011-12 D-Mac: 54.6%
17 2007-08 Feds: 54.5%
23 2014-15 Letestu: 52.9%
24 2009-10 Pahlsson: 52.9%
25 2009-10 Umby: 52.8%
26 2013-14 RyJo: 52.8%
27 2007-08 Peca: 52.7%
29 2016-17 Lukas Sedlak: 52.4%
35 2005-06 Hrdina: 51.9%
39 2000-01 Gardiner: 51.5%
41 2000-01 Aubin: 51.3%
45 2011-12 JC7 aka Douchebag #2: 50.9%
46 2006-07 Svitov: 50.9%

87 2020-21 Roslovic: 39.1% (only player sub 40%) Last year he improved to 43.5%. Shouldn't be a top 2C with that kind of FO winning percentage.

That's every CBJ player who took at least 400 FOs in a season and won better than 50% of them...and Rosy.

So, we want Sillinger spending some time with dad in the off-season talking about face offs.

Also, top 3 looks like 1) Malhotra 2) Dubinsky 3) Sillinger if we say you needed to be on the team for a couple of years at least and we disregard the one season of Miami alum Kevyn Adams. Sillinger also ranks 12th all time on one list I saw.

I want dad (or Manny or Dubi) spending some time with all the young CBJ centers in the off-season talking about face offs.

Sorry, really took this thread off topic.

The best defence on 3-on-3 is to keep the puck, therefore Panarin-Gaudreau-Laine would be quite possibly banned as an unfair bunch.

For the next season, Werenski-Gaudreau-Laine would not be that far off.

Both combination would need a "Jenner" for the faceoff.

EDIT:
Just for fun I checked last 3 seasons stats from Natural Stat Trick (I don't have the paid account to fetch longer periods, sorry!) and for current & recent CBJ skaters these have been the most successful:

Laine 6-2, 75%
PLD 9-5, 64%
Voracek 7-4, 64%
Panarin 8-5, 62%
Werenski 9-7, 56%
Domi 8-7, 53%
Atkinson 7-8, 47%
Gaudreau 7-9, 44%
Jones 7-14, 33%

All these were TOP-50 on NHL during that period in number of OT wins when on ice.

Sample size is not enormous, but I was not totally surprised other than seeing how bad numbers Jones has.
Jones also gave up a few howlers in OT.

Boll -- Shelley -- Dorsett 😎:fight:
No Dalton Prout? LOL

I want dad (or Manny or Dubi) spending some time with all the young CBJ centers in the off-season talking about face offs.

Sorry, really took this thread off topic.
Manny Maholtra is still one of my favorite all-time Jackets.

No Dan Fritsche?

He is?!? SWEET! How did I miss that? I even looked it up online before I posted this.
Sacrilege, how dare you lump the first native Ohioan drafted to play for the CBJ with three high first round busts. :cf:

I'd have Bread & Jones with Dubi to take the face off and then get off quickly...
