Are Tampa everybodys fave?
Are the Caps gonna repeat?
Will the Pens make it 3 cups in 4 years?
Will Boston or Calgary take it?
Any outsider as your #1 fave?

There are 18 options as one of Columbus Carolina or Montreal will miss, as well as one of Dallas Colorado or Arizona. Cant imagine those teams are anyones faves anyways...

Caps are actually in a good position to repeat it. They will be playing a exhausted Bruins team if they make it through or a slightly less tired Tampa. Up to then it should be a breeze for them.

Yeah should be easy to beat one of the two teams that are better than them. Might as well call it now.

not saying your wrong but why is Boston better? caps virtually the same roster from last year that went 7 with Tampa. Bruins got taken to the woodshed by tampa.

How are the Bruins exhausted?

If anything the now can rest some players

Nothing is easy in the playoffs. Getting out of the Metro will be a task, Not sure where anyone would think the Caps have a clear path when Pittsburgh is there. The most points since the trade deadline in the league is Pittsburgh and Washington.

That said, its not clear to me that either Boston or Tampa are better than them. Using a full season of games doesn't really present an accurate picture as to who is best now. Playoff hockey is different than regular season hockey and its hard to project which of these teams is better at that.

What is true is that Boston doesn't want to play checkers against the Capitals much less a playoff series. I think most Boston players would rather bag skate than play the Capitals

Or they play a tiring 7 game series against Pittsburgh and Tampa goes 4-0 4-1 in the first two rounds

Caps will show up in the playoffs, they are dangerous and the #1 choice for me. As for Tampa and Stamghost, they are number 2 until proven otherwise. Regular season means nothing.

Different poll vs thread question

I think Tampa is the favorite to win it all and voted for them.

But i dont think they *will* win it all.

If Washington plays Pitt i think Pittsburgh will be the favorites in the matchup

It doesn't mean Washington cant win - but it will definitely NOT be a breeze for them.

Tough to say between Tampa and the Caps. If I had to pick, I'd go Tampa because I have less faith in Holtby than years past.

Happy TB isnt the clear cut favorite here. I wont feel as bad if we lose lol.

Edit: Was looking at the results from earlier this year lol.

On another note. Seems like a lot of people are picking Washington and the Bruins to beat us. Seems like maybe we are actually underdogs? :sarcasm:

Don't see how anyone other than Tampa can be the favorite.

It's not a genius prognostication to say that they probably won't win, but if I had to guess I see this season ending like last one, a loss in the ECF to Washington.

Tampa could definitely lose, the way favourites often do, but if they're not your favourite you're probably being too cute. Tampa is the objectively correct answer.
