I'm asking who is the best Sabre all-time whose last name started with the letter "S"? This is for their time with the Sabres, and I'm arbitrarily selecting a 75 game minimum as a Sabre.

Remember, this is all-time and includes every season since the beginning of the franchise - not just the recent ones.

Of course, I'll run through the rest of the alphabet up until the regular season starts.

"R" was REALLY close. All four top choices were worthy.

Results so far:

A: Dave Andreychuk 91.2%
B: Danny Briere 73.1%
C: Brian Campbell 50.6%
D: Rasmus Dahlin 66.3%
E: Jack Eichel 48.1%
F: Mike Foligno 93.2%
G: Danny Gare 94.5%
H: Dominik Hasek 95.3%
I: No one qualified
J: Calle Johansson 51.3% (Honorable Mention - Rick Jeanneret)
K: Jerry Korab 71.9%
L: Pat LaFontaine 80.0%
M: Rick Martin 48.2%
N: Teppo Numminen 100.0%
O: Kyle Okposo 55.7%
P: Gilbert Perreault 98.5%
Q: Jack Quinn by default
R: Rene Robert 27.5%

Let the voting begin!

I'm just glad you included Sobotka as an option.

Schonfeld was admittedly before my time as a real hockey fan. Is he that obvious a choice over Miro?

Schoeny followed by Seiling. I like Satan but he never played balls out like Ric and Jim
I always liked Seiling, but he was always a little tainted by the fact that we could have had Mike Bossy instead.

Miro isn't even my 2nd......I've got Seiling ahead of him. And I'm already REAL close at putting Skinner in 3rd ahead of Miro.

But to answer your question -- there isn't a hesitation for me at all putting Schoeny ahead of Miro.

I gave him Lindy credit for multiple roles but Miro is certainly a legitimate take. Name alone is bonus points. :thumbu:

Satan is getting seriously underrated. The numbers he put up on those shit offensive teams in the height of the dead puck era are really impressive.

Couple that with the fact that he signed team-friendly deals to stay with the Sabres, even fired his agent once to get that done.

People bagging on that guy are idiots.

I agree. I'm fine with people voting Schoenfeld ahead of him but Seiling? Really? Satan was doing a lot of it on his own. Who knows what his numbers look like with a solid playmaker on his line. DPE or not, he was a stud for a half decade or so.

Satan— leading scorer (by a LOT) in 6 out of his 7 years on the team. He was the ONLY offensive threat on this team for the bulk of his career and still put up great numbers. 35 pts in 51 career playoff games with the Sabres.

I definitely have a soft spot for those back-to-back ECF teams in the late 90s.

He might not have been a "balls out" player, but he was good at what he did.

Dalton Smith.
Remember when Botterill signed him and he was dressed for like 1 game for some toughness reason or something like that?

On a serious note Team S looks pretty good too, lots of D depth but maybe a bit short in scoring. 4th line needs John Scott.
tbf I haven't seen most of these players so just looking at stats.....

Then an embarassment of riches over the years for D, from Schoenfeld to Sammy.
