I'm asking who is the best Sabre all-time whose last name started with the letter "L"? This is for their time with the Sabres, and I'm arbitrarily selecting a 75 game minimum as a Sabre.

Remember, this is all-time and includes every season since the beginning of the franchise - not just the recent ones.

Of course, I'll run through the rest of the alphabet up until the regular season starts.

Results so far:

A: Dave Andreychuk 91.2%
B: Danny Briere 73.1%
C: Brian Campbell 50.6%
D: Rasmus Dahlin 66.3%
E: Jack Eichel 48.1%
F: Mike Foligno 93.2%
G: Danny Gare 94.5%
H: Dominik Hasek 95.3%
I: No one qualified
J: Calle Johansson 51.3% (Honorable Mention - Rick Jeanneret)
K: Jerry Korab 71.9%

Let the voting begin!

There were some good candidates for "L" but in the end I had to vote for LaFontaine.

Don Luce was a close 2nd.

I loved Patty and he was one of the most exciting players I've ever seen in a Sabres sweater. I also loved the person he was even if his choices and exit from the organization is a bit tainted. But Don Luce would have been a perennial Selke trophy winner if he didn't play at the same time as Bob Gainey. Him and Craig Ramsay (who did win a Selke once) were two of maybe the best defensive line in hockey - and they still generated a lot of offense. He was durable and would get you 60 - 70 points a year. Unreal.

I was like "Oh, this is easy"..........and then I saw the poll and remembered that Luce was a thing.

I still think I have to go Patty, but this is NOT a clear-cut thing at all. Luce was a top-tier two-way player in his day.

As a side note: Luce and Roby for Joe Daley is one of the more underratedly lopsided trade we've ever pulled off.

You're preaching to the choir. I loved, loved, loved the Luce-Ramsay-Gare line growing up.

That being said, LaFontaine was something extremely special.

This is another letter where it would be awesome to have a runner-up poll.

Luce
Lorentz
Lydman

I think you could make arguments for all three, though as much as I love Loods, he's behind the other two.

The person who voted for Ville Leino should have an automatic avatar change to Ville Leino. Permanently.
If you click on the number of votes, it displays who voted for each guy. @rylt, collect your prize!

I'm sure @rylt types "lol" after every post.

And probably means "lover of Leino"

Leino has a pretty neat clothing brand, so there's that

To nobody's surprise, he has a Flyers tie-up, but not Sabres lol.

Anyhow Jran Lepl gets my vote

You guys are making this too complicated. It's obviously playoff warrior Ville Leino.
