So looking at the lists I'm seeing a few trends in regards to the chances of your team's prospect going to the WJC based on who you draft. If you are drafting outside of the top 3-5 in the first regularly, overagers, goalies in the 2nd/3rd round, have extra picks in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd round, drafting prospects outside of the 'Top 4' hockey countries, and drafting players from the US system who don't go to the CHL, all of those picks/players have a better chance of participating, obviously.

This makes no sense.

Canucks only have Juolevi going for Finland. Brisebois was cut from Canada and Boeser is injured. Unless I'm missing someone, but I don't think I am.

Edit: I guess Jasek is going for the Czech Republic.

This makes no sense.

Basically there are factors completely unrelated to how good a prospect is relative to their peers that affect whether or not they go to the WJC. So if team A has 5 players going and team B has 0 it doesn't necessarily mean at all that team A has better prospects/drafting than team B. Hopefully that's more understandable.

So there isn't any 2017 draft eligible player(s) for Canada?

Nolan Patrick would almost surely have made the team, but is injured. Cal Foote was invited to the original summer development camp but either isn't good enough or not eligible to actually play, but was probably the next closest.

Vilardi is better than Foote. He's also injured.

Or am I off base.

With Kaše seemingly fit and flying over tomorrow that makes 9 for the Flyers.

Though Bernhardt and Laczynski might be cut before tournament... though both have good chances to make it.
