I'd say Boucher, the Cooks, and Ching Johnson are guys who are overlooked because they literally played nearly a century ago.

Greschner deserves a shoutout. He played at the end of the Francis Era all the way to the Neilson/Smith Era. That's impressive.

Everyone else above kind of sums it up. Jagr and Zubov both had short but memorable stints.

Probably going to miss one or two, started watching in 95:

Graves, Richter, Leetch, Messier, Lindros, Jagr, Callahan, Lundqvist.

Didn't put anyone from the current roster but really hoping to add KK and Laf one day. Igor and Fox will be there.

edit - I did my favorites, not necessarily "best".

I cut my teeth on that 2012 team.

Hank
Callahan
Dubinsky
Girardi
Anisimov
Prust

For the current era:
Fox
Panarin
really liked Tony D when he was here too, he was excellent in 19-20 and helped make that team the most fun to watch in recent years.
I love Zib when he's in his MEAT phase, but really hate him when he's in one of his soy phases (like right now)

and of course, Zuuuuuuc

Not going to go through everyone, but….

#1

brian-leetch.jpg
Leetch is hands down the best, and most talented player in our franchise’s history.
#2

2 and beyond Is where things get difficult. There are a number of great options, with none being right or wrong. As a dude who played goalie, my opinion here is biased. It’s #30 for me.

#3
Give me Rod Gilbert here. Life long Ranger for over 15 seasons. Career leader in a number of stats. Shame he retired early. An absolute Legend.

#4/#5/#6

Boucher/Bathgate/Cook

You can make a strong argument for anyone of these fossils here. And in any order.

Many will put Messier, Graves or Richter before them and I’d disagree.

This is where things get even more difficult..

#7, 8, 9

Messier, Park, and Ratelle are the 3 stand outs here.

Hadfield. Richter. Giac. Greshner. f***….

Goddammit… My list is wrong…

I need to re-think this.. Shits really difficult…

I'm not very old... he is my favorite but my others would be

Rick Nash
Henrik Lundqvist
Pavel Buchnevich
Tony DeAngelo
Igor Shesterkin
Edit: and how did I forget, Artemi Panarin

Never heard of half the guys in OP
I’m all seriousness, your list is an absolute slap in the face to the history of the team you follow.

TDA? Buch? Nash? These are the guys you think of when it comes down to the best Rangers ever?

Dude I honestly want you the root for another team. I’m ashamed and wholeheartedly embarrassed you’re a Rangers fan with the absolute garbage you just discharged here.

Stop playing fortnite for a few nights and go research the beautiful history of this team and the players who represented our jersey with absolute pride.

It’s not even funny anymore. You’re a f***ing joke. There are Islanders and Devils fan with a better understanding of the great players in our history than you.

I took this thread as asking who our favorites in our times as fans were man lmao obviously I don’t think they’re the all time greats of an original six franchise

The way he said YOUR best made it sound subjective, multiple other guys in this thread said my favorites are ____
I definitely don’t think those guys are all time greats lol, I wish I were a fan long enough to have witnessed greats. Nash was my favorite player as a little kid.. Lundqvist is the only Rangers legend I’ve witnessed

I want to forgive you but I’d still beat you with the ugly stick if/when I meet you in real life.

In all seriousness, you should know most of these Rangers legends with the amount of hockey you follow. It’s so easy to do so with all the resources we have today.

Go down that rabbit hole for a couple of hours. You’ll appreciate the names your unfamiliar with.

I'm sure I missed a few.

Kreider, if he sticks around a few more years will be on the list. He's close as it is. He's already top 10 NYR history goals scored, getting close to top 10 games played. GWG 7th.

Best I've seen?

Everyone from like 92 on.

My school colors were Boston Bruins style but my goalie gear was bought primarily with Richter, and the Rangers in mind. Sorry not a list, just wanted to share because this is a cool thread.

I was enamored with Richter's style of play. Then in a short period of time I watched him hoist the cup. He was my idol.

Yeah. I kind of thought it was more of a subjective question too.

Going by who I have seen play (Either live or on TV)

1. Henrik Lundqvist
2. Brian Leetch
3. Jaromír Jágr
4. Artemiy Panarin
5. Sergei Zubov
For some reason, on first glance, I saw Walt Poddubny in there.

There are so many, but I'd have to start with Orland Kurtenbach.

I’m only going by who I got to see play. I know a lot of good players have come through here. It’s in no order aside from #1, because to me he was otherworldly good.

Leetch
Messier
Jagr
Lundqvist
Fox
Shesterkin
Panarin

There’s more I could add, but I don’t know if I’d be going off of emotion or purely the best I’ve seen.
