"Cheap" and "top 4" are mutually exclusive. That said, j-bow and gunner of stl would be available, gudbranson (but Vancouver, so likely inflated price), Martinez, petrovic, outside chance at Faulk (Not really a rental, but def a need for edm; probably can't trade for him given car similar need for scoring forwards), nik kronwall+ nic Jensen. Off the top of my head anyways. Most of these guys are "capable" of top 4 minutes, very likely in the case of faulk, the rest of them are mid round picks and easily attainable for a bandage.

Not sure either are top 4 caliber anymore, but both Brendan Smith and Adam McQuaid would be available for cheap from the Rangers.

Hey rocket scientist did you read the title or even know how to read. Zaitsev sucks and his contract is awful. He is a bottom pairing guy at best on any team hoping to have a chance to win.

And Aberg is a 1st line wing for the Ducks who hold the same ranking within their division as the Leafs do. It doesn't mean anyone else would want the player at that spot... it just means you do what you've gotta do until you can upgrade.
