Probably, but the Sox have historically limited their marketing considerably for inane reasons and their draw and footprint is considerably smaller than one would think. Being the second most popular team in Chicago and arguably third most popular team in Illinois might not be as attractive to some rich Tennessean wanting to set up shop in Nashville or if some rich North Carolinian has a few billion bucks burning in his pocket.

Heck, Reinsdorf himself once threatened to bolt to Tampa Bay for the then allegedly appealing Tropicana Field that literally nobody actually likes.

But assuredly much speculation about nothing. I would have to imagine some rich locals would step in to outbid any such outsider.
There is a certain rich North Carolinian that Reinsdorf knows very well that could put up the money and group together to move them to Charlotte. ;)But I doubt he'd do it.
