We had a fantasy draft on the HF games section for the 2020-2021 season/playoffs. Please select the team from each matchup that would win in a 7 game series. I ask that you consider all aspects of the teams and analyze closely before voting (depth, stars, PP guys, PK guys, defence, growth, decline), or otherwise to abstain. This is round 3, round one occurred on the HF games section, we will be running another game this week if you'd like to join, we are actively looking for more GMs so we'd love to have you.

How is B2 beating B1?

Their defense is abysmal after Hedman, whereas B1 has a top-4 of Theodore - Carlo and Murray - Spurgeon.

Kuemper is better and more proven than Shesty, and he proved that he can bring his game in the playoffs this year.

Offense is relatively comparable, but B1's top-6 has the advantage in terms of points in 2019-20.

B1:
Kahun - Draisaitl - Vrana = (average) 0.98 ppg
Tatar - Kadri - Pearson = (average) 0.76 ppg

vs

Schwartz - O'Reilly - Perron = (average) 0.83 ppg
Chytil - Danault - Gallagher = (average) 0.59 ppg

That's not even close. B1 is far more talented offensively, and to make up for Draisaitl's defensive play, I drafted 2 defensive centers in Kadri and Faksa.

Because while B1's top six may put up fewer points, they will tilt the ice and give up fewer goals against too. They have two legitimate Selke contending centres to go with even strength drivers, one of whom has won a Conn Smythe.

Stralman will be old, but he'll still be smart and able to pass.

Jokiharju will be recognized as a bonafide top four player by 2021, and while Martinez is underwhelming, he's still a complementary second pairing defender.

Add in the fact that he has the 2019 and 2020 Conn Smythe winners, and Bob's your uncle.

Your PandaRankings had Anaheim at #5, and St. Louis at #19.

That's the best indicator of success in my book.

How the heck did A1 lose? They have better defenders defensively and offensively, really good PP guys, and their top 2 lines would dominate the other teams top 2
