2000 was awful. All of these are awful. The reason we had to suffer was the absolute garbage drafts from 2000-2012.

2008, while not on here, was pretty awful too. Nothing outside of the first round (other than 1/4 season of Luke Adam).

I wasn't a fan back in 2000, what was with the Russian obsession? Trying to find another Mogilny?

forever a tropp fan even if he got destroyed in that career ending fight. He was gonna be Kaleta 2.0. Was dynamite in Rochester.

P.S this thread is sad an unneeded when things are looking up for us lol.

2010 because those players should be 28 and make up our best core players on a playoff team today.

Voted 2010, but this organization has been pure shit at drafting for a while so they’re all pretty close behind.

Of the most recent drafts 2016 might be able to qualify for a list like this in the future.

2000 but all of these are awful. Way too much trading away first and second rounders too

How dare you say such things about us. :sarcasm:

Obviously they chose the wrong Russians.
I can't remember what year it was when Regier said they weren't drafting Russians because of the threat from the KHL and video scouting. I think it wasn't until 2004.

Doesn't excuse the previous years though.

1999 was a Ryan Miller selection away from needing to be on this list.

When I look back at those drafts, even the majority of picks we had that did play in the NHL, I’m curious how many would’ve been in the NHL if they weren’t on the Buffalo Sabres

I picked 2010 simply for the fact that we should still have some of those players contributing to our team, or they ended up good enough that we could have traded them for other good players. When you miss so many times you just dont have the assets to acquire good players.

I loved milkbag but he got caved in on that fight. I also thought DannyCat was going to be a Kris Draper, and Drew Schiestel looked like a real 3-4 D until the knee injury.

There is a reason I am not a pro scout.

Which fight is that? Because he's playing for the Gulls in the AHL again this year.

This remains my all time favorite Tropp moment:
