I used to work at an upscale nightclub in Ottawa, most of my experiences are from there:
Daniel Alfredsson: He came in once, shook everyone's hands, seemed to keep to himself mostly but people kept talking to him. He looked a bit uncomfortable being at a bar, but I don't blame him since he has a family and I'm sure he has better things to do.
Erik Condra: He walked up to the bar and introduced himself (this was at the end of last season), he was pretty beat up after the NYR series, but he wasn't shy and spent some time chatting up the door staff.
Filip Kuba: He was pretty quiet for most of the night, then he got pretty bombed and was buying shots for everyone and was socializing alot. And he may or may not have made out with a larger lady.
Jason Spezza: He's come in a few times, usually with most of the guys. At their end of year party, he walks out of the bar, and hops into what he thought was his limo that was waiting outside of the bar. He immediately got out and so did an unsavory character, followed by the driver, both giving him unpleasant looks. He apologized and they seemed to relax and he went and hopped into his actual limo, which was behind the first one. We were watching from the front and a had a pretty good laugh, but thankfully it didn't escalate.
Zenon Konopka: A friend of mine (former high school buddy of his) introduced me to him, we had a couple of shots together, he was really down to earth but not super chatty.
Zack Smith: He always has a smirk on his face whenever I've seen him, which kinda reflects with his on-ice personality (from what I can tell). Seems like a laid back guy with a decent sense of humor, he and Erik Condra were making fun of each other alot.
Rob Blake: Super polite, really tall, exactly how I thought he would be.
Jeremy Roenick: Really funny guy, down to earth, was having laughs with everyone and shaking alot of hands.
John Tavares: Pretty shy but very polite, came in with his friends, had some drinks and left
Marion Gaborik: Surprisingly rude, was grabbing girls all night and got pretty wasted, pretty disappointed, but I guess not everyone is a good drunk.
Colin Greening: Not the type that seems to go out, so he was pretty reserved/quiet most of the night
Milan Michalek: Hung out with Karlsson most of the night, mostly kept to himself but was very gracious and accommodating when people approached him to talk to him or to take a picture. I've had the pleasure of meeting him and most of the Sens on many occasions as they usually have their end of year party at the bar I manage.
Erik Karlsson: He's exactly as you expect him to be, pretty normal and easy-going.
Nikita Filatov: I speak Russian so we got along pretty well, I told him I hoped he stayed in Ottawa, but he decided to pursue opportunities in Moscow lol
Claude Giroux: We were neighbors downtown for a while, I met him through a mutual acquaintance (Martin St. Pierre, who plays in the AHL primarily), so we've partied a few times. Super friendly with everyone, always happy to take pictures with people, I have not met a nicer hockey player.
Derek Brassard: Typical french kid, really friendly and polite but mostly keeps to himself.
