I wouldn't go that far but they were an amazing team.
I don't think it's that far fetched. The teams are pretty similar, but I'd give the edge to 2013.

2013 Neuer>2020 Neuer
Lahm>Kimmich
2013 Boateng>2020 Boateng
Dante~=Alaba
Davies=>2013 Alaba
Thiago>Martinez
Schweini~= Goretzka
Mueller=Mueller
Roberry> Coman/Gnabry
Lewa>Mandzu

Yeah I think this is pretty accurate though I'd take Alaba over Dante (regardless of his performance tonight) and I think I also prefer Davies to 2013 Alaba (style wise, though this was peak Alaba hype time and now peak Davies hype so...) I'd say Alaba, Thiago, maybe Davies and Lewa are the three I'd take from this team over 2013, but yeah I think 2013 was better.

Kroos was also on that team as he got hurt against Juventus and that was when Robben came in and was awesome. I think the 2013 was better. Obviously Lewandowski is better than Mandzukic and Gomez but all the players that were on this years team weren't nearly as good and despite how good Kimmich is they had Lahm. Both are fantastic either way.

Yeah I figured Alaba and Dante were relatively equal as the CB's. 2013 Alaba was probably peak Alaba and while he didn't have Davies freakish athleticism he was very very well rounded as a LB and probably at worst the 3rd best LB in the world at that point.

2013. They also faced harder competition, Barca at their peak (more or less), Madrid on the upswing, just about to win 4 CLs in 5 years, Atletico, Juve, Klopp's BVB, etc.

While it doesn't take anything away from Bayern's fantastic season in 2020, Barca needs an overhaul, City choked, Liverpool got killed by Atleti, Real are still a healthy Hazard and another forward away from seriously competing in Europe, Juventus was pretty mediocre the whole year, etc.

PSG were a Mbappe sitter away from possibly winning it.

I'm not selling Bayern short I don't think, I rooted for them in the "final 8", but I really don't think the competition was that hard.
Not their fault though.

Better roster: 2013
Better team in practise: 2020

I mean the 2020 team could basically dictate play against any opponent even with a couple key injuries and the defence basically not being 100%. David Alaba I still consider to be a good player but bad CB yet they won the CL with him and barely gave up any BL goals with him there after the restart.

Looking on paper, it's easily 2013, and by a large margin too. All the guys who are still there this year were better in 2013. However, I can't get over how much of a f***ing machine this Bayern team is. To average over 3 goals a game in all competitions (159 in 52) is UNBELIEVABLE. Not only have they not lost yet in 2020, they've fully won every single game they've played since the restart. As much as 2013 was incredible (and the margin of this poll suggests all y'all agree), I gotta give credit to this year's, and so I voted for them.

I think the 2013 team would beat the 2020 team personally, but they're both amazing. Two of my favourite teams to watch outside of Liverpool the last decade.

2013 by a hair. They had better team chemistry and a more dominant run in the CL this year. However the 2013 team 1) won the league by 25 pts with a GF to GA spread of 98 to 18 (vs 100 to 32 this year), 2) beat more in-form opponents in Europe (they beat Italian champions Juve 4-0 on aggregate over two legs in the QFs and a dominant Barcelona side that had won La Liga by 15 points 7-0 on aggregate over two legs in the semis), and 3) had more players that were the best-in-the-world at their positions such as Lahm and Robbery.
