I still think Garland has to go long term to make the cap structure work but it can wait until the off-season. With Petey and Hronek about to cash in and OEL cap penalty, we can’t afford a $5m winger on the third line.

Gotta be Kuzmenko at this point. Under different circumstances he'd be a prime candidate for a project that you take your time and go through the process with but this team quite suddenly finds itself in the middle of a contention window with several players needing hefty raises within the next few years and so don't have the luxury for that.

Other NHL teams are smart enough to know what he has to offer so I think he makes for a great trade chip. Guaranteed, if the Canucks go all in for a top 6 forward (like, say, Guentzel) he's going the other way.
