Should I get seasons tickets for Mississauga, Hamilton or Oshawa ? I know Oshawa is going to be terrible, but they would be closest for me. Mississauga seems like an up and coming exciting team and Hamilton took the Bulls and they look like they should be decent this year. Not sure what to do

If you're considering Hamilton, you can throw Niagara into the mix. By the time you get to Copps or whatever they call it nowadays, you can stay on the highway and be most of the way to St.Catharines.

Brand new barn, good loud crowds, contender in the East this season.

If you're closest to Oshawa, I'd go there. Yes, they're a young team and are going to struggle a bit, but with DJ Smith and Eric Wellwood behind the bench, you know it's going to be an exciting team to watch.

LOL wow, brain fart on my behalf. My apologies. Even still, Jones and Wellwood is a good combination and, with a young team, and being so close, it would be my choice.

Steelheads will have a much better team in the next couple of seasons with some good young talent and we are also one of the cheaper options in the league when it comes to Season Tickets.

There, that's my sales pitch haha

"IF" Oshawa is the closest to you and your contemplating Hamilton then you should also include Guelph and Barrie.

The only reason hamilton is in consideration, is because I am originally from Belleville so they are the team I am the most familiar with. But yeah I guess I should probably go with Oshawa...

Torts is right we do have the value option games at the start of the season are a little lacking attendance wise but last season despite being out of it they had 3000+ for about the last 10-15 games. if you go the Mississauga route, section 20 has always got room for two more provided you don't mind a little noise.

Option 1) commit to your local team & buy Oshawa - great arena, good knowledgeable fans, they're not going to repeat as champions so a down year for the team - but I don't think they'll be terrible (until they start selling off their remaining vets at the trade deadline)
Con expensive

Option 2) follow your home town heart and pick Hamilton
Con expensive and furthest drive through rush hour traffic across top of TO to get to most games

Option 3) 3 flex packs - 1 for each team Oshawa, Missy & Hammer
each team offers 6, 12 or 20 game flex packs.
Not quite as good a value as a season ticket, but you can choose the best games to go to for each team and not have to sit through any blowouts

Option 4) Missy season tickets - you'll have your pick of seats and much less expensive tickets
Con - typically less than 1/2 full attendance makes for a poor game day atmosphere

Question for you Lyons89 - have you been to games at each arena?

Yeah I have been to Oshawa 20+ times and Mississauga twice. Oshawa has an awesome atmosphere. Never been to the Hamilton arena

You'd get the best bang for your buck in Mississauga since they have the cheapest tickets and lots of free parking. You'd also get to watch a few draft hopefuls in Mikey McLeod and Sean Day this season.

No line's for concession's, bathroom which is a bonus! Staff are really friendly. Often times, Season ticket holders are given extras. In my ST Package last year I got 40$ to play at the casino, free pizza and ton's of coupons!

You will often be approached and asked if you want free tickets for games (I was asked 4 times) free NBL league tickets, boxing, you name it.

They appreciate your business so they want to keep you coming back!

Paul Yager is the guy to talk to and easily one of the nicest people you will meet!

Go to Mississauga. Even for 1 year it's worth it!

Just building on what others have said. Missy really is the best bang for your buck.

Also last year after Christmas we actually had great crowds every Friday night, Sunday afternoon games are tough while football is on but the attendance really picked up alot late last season.

Speaking from AHL experience. Hamilton is awesome when they fill the lower bowl. Used to happen all the time when the Marlies came to town and usually they open up more beer lines. I would expect games vs Niagara, Missisauga, Guelph, London and Kitchener to draw better crowds. This gets compounded if it's a weekend game and the Bulldogs often had $3 beer Fridays.

However, if you get a weekday game vs a far away stinker team (I vividly recall a Hamilton vs San Antonio game on a Thursday) it's awful and like a morgue. 2000 in a 17,000 seater is no fun. Games vs the likes of Ottawa, North Bay, SSM, Sudbury and Barrie, I'd probably steer away from.

If Oshawa and Missisauga are closer targets (and it sounds like they are) I would not advise getting Hamilton season tickets. I'd opt for a flex 10 pack, if that. Realistically, you are never going to have a problem finding tickets for a game in Hamilton, so the need for seasons to keep your seat isn't there. When the Bulldogs do sellout the lower bowl, the usually do open up part of the upper bowl, usually about 50% of the time (really it depends on how fast they sold out). Realistically too, if Mississauga and Oshawa are in the equation, Hamilton probably won't be given Toronto traffic.

Completely agree with both these guys on year 4 myself in Mississauga, Yager is a great guy (ticket rep) free parking tons always available even if games sold out, they're always offering extras to sth despite already being lowest priced in the league. Last year they gave us boxing tickets, upgraded any sth who wanted to the private box on school day, tons of extra tickets to games and half off jerseys makes it easy to look the part. Dunno if it matters but beer is reasonable for arena standards coming in at $5.75

We also just grabbed the other McLeod shapping up to be a fun year

Nylander commits! if that doesn't lock in the decision I dunno what does this team is looking better and better everyday.

Email [email protected] he's pretty quick with answering emails I think the deadline for the fancy season ticket holder book printing is coming up.
