Red Wing fan coming in peace, What was being said in Detroit by Detroit Free Press Red Wings beat writer Helene St James is that Detroit might be willing to offer Buffalo for Myers Tatar+Kindl+Detroit's 2015 2nd round pick. Mantha and Larkin are still off the tables they were saying.

That would be a horrendous return for Myers.

I probably like Tatar more than most around these parts, but that offer is terrible. I don't see him being the centerpiece in a Myers trade. If that's what Holland is offering he may as well move on.

Nope it's just Helene St James speculating again, Even us Wings fans don't take her seriously. Myers to Detroit will never happen because Holland will never part with the pieces that Tim Murray will want.

I agree Kindl has negative value right now, And Holland would be foolish to part with Tatar that kid is going to be a stud in this league for years to come. All this is is St James speculating again neither team would do this trade Holland has already said that Tatar is'nt going any where.

I think people are underrating Tatar here. He's on pace for 30 in his second NHL season. There are not many 30 goal wingers that play with as much heart and determination as Tatar.

Not underrating him, it's just that package is terrible. A late second and a defenseman that has no value to us. Tatar for Myers straight up doesn't make me pull the trigger at this point.

Helene is just the Red Wing mouth piece. I'm sure Detroit would love to get him for that, but that's not going to happen.

It seems like Holland has been floating the same packages forever. GMTM must be getting tired.
If he wants Myers, man up and pay the price.
Otherwise **** and go bug Washington for Mike Green.

There may not be a trade until the deadline at this rate with injuries and general activity.

Tatar is definitely a stud, but if we're giving up Myers we should get more out of it. By that I mean it has to include either Mantha or Larkin (period.)

Aside, thinking Stewart to BOS for 2015 2nd. and Stafford to PIT for the same. PIT looks like they're going all in with them already shipping out their 1st, if not the 2016 2nd will do just fine (obviously an overpayment for Stafford, there'd be some additional fixin mixed into the deal).

There is nothing to hesitate about. ROR is hell bent on hitting the open market. He's a trade target for a better team, not a building team.

The contract thing plus Myers playing so much better is what has me torn.

Even if I know he'd re-sign with us (which is at best a 50/50 shot)..........I still don't know if I'd do it.

I hope not. Between his contract length, his agent and his lower production it seems too risky. Not interested in giving up Myers (and then negotiating an 8x8 deal) to a 30 point defensive specialist who won't be surrounded by Duchene, Stastny, MacKinnon, Landeskaag and Paranteau level players in Buffalo to bolster his production.

Would we trade Myers for Tyler Ennis, Jamie McBain with three years contract left with 2,4 mil. cap hit and a second round pick? Of course we wouldn't.

Tomas Tatar scores in slumps and he benefits from having sheltered minutes and high o-zone-start percent. And it's not like he's having bad team around him either. He has scored the same amount of points on ES than Tyler Ennis.

Tyler Ennis had a similar role and decent team around him on his rookie season. He scored almost 50 points and would have been close to 30 goals if he had played a full season. If we swapt Tyler Ennis to Tomas Tatar, our team would be worse. Tyler Ennis also plays with intensity and "heart" and he's at least as dynamic as Tatar. I'd rather wait what Ennis can do when he's given a role as beneficient as Tatar has right now.

And I don't think Tatar is a bad player, he's just a prime example of a "luxury piece", and you don't give anything essential, if you basically get one "luxury piece", a trash piece and a second rounder.

Stafford or Stewart for a pick before the deadline. I don't see any blockbuster roster player deals happening.

Please keep the conversation within the title parameters, and not another Myers trade value thread. Thanks!
