I have allowed people multiple votes but I am asking everybody to vote for the one or two guys they most want to take as I believe there are some of us who would be happy to select either of a pair of guys at this stage. The guy with the most votes gets drafted on Thursday.

I went for Connor Hurley even though he is a longer-term project and Pavel Buchnevich because I think he has a massive ceiling in purely offensive terms.

I think I will close the poll this evening. Obviously if any of these guys are still available by the time we get to pick 44th overall then we can use the results to pick that selection unless any body objects.

Went with Lehkonen and Buchnevich. Gotta try to get some skill given our first two picks.

Sorry folks. I was in Munich this week and access was less than good....

The Calgary Flames are proud to select Madison Bowey, D, Kelowna of the WHL.

Interesting.

I'm trying to consider Calgary's long and short term needs. their prospect pool is pretty shallow, especially on defense - in my opinion. For them to come away with Barkov, Morrisey and Bowey in the draft.... I think they would be pretty happy. Having guys who can skate on the back end and play all around games with upside is valuable.

Have you seen much of Bowey? Just wondering what your take is. I actually like him as a possible CBJ pick as well (aside from needing offense, offense, offense). I almost went with Buchnevic for the Flames too.

I found the choice interesting because Bowey is a guy that isn't on many people's first round radar. You aren't too far off on him - I would place him in the 35-40 range personally. He could turn out to be a great find, a good all-around type defenseman comparable to maybe Stephane Robidas. He's a Calgary Flames type of pick, a guy that plays the game with some physicality.

It's certainly not unlike Calgary to reach for the guy they want. Considering the Flames don't pick again for awhile, it makes sense.

After much deliberation the Colorado Avalanche take a big chance by selecting Samuel Morin to go along with Seth Jones.

The Tampa Bay Lightning select from Switzerland and the Everett Silvertips, defenseman Mirco Mueller. Once this kid fills out his 6-3 frame, he could be a beast.

Les Canadiens de Montreal are on the clock.
