When I was in Montreal, especially during my early university years, I used to enjoy an underground AM station that played alternative after midnight and was an ethnic station in the daytime, and eventually CBC had a tremendous how that started at midnight, Brave New Waves, with Augusta La Paix. CBC also had a stellar jazz how during evenings, After Hours with Ross Porter: smoky voice, encyclopedic knowledge of jazz, effortless narrator: exactly what you want out of a radio host, especially at night.
