What players seemingly have all the tools but never quite put it all together?

Yeah, are there any examples of this around the league that you can think of? Of course, you can also mention past players or such that has left the NHL for Europe.

Old school - Martin Rucinsky. Always thought his actual production laged behind his skills.

Recently - until this year I would have said Nathan Mckinnon. All the measurables but the production wasn't there.

Don't know how he has been doing in Montreal, but Drouin was one in Tampa. His career high of 53 points is really underwhelming for the skillset he has. Still, he's young and could and should get it together.

Size, solid skater, booming shot, could deliver some crushing hits from time to time. Maybe lacking in hockey IQ? Not sure.

Interesting one regardless.

Pavel Zacha. It's maddening watching him because he has great size/strength (although he doesn't hit), he's a good skater, good passer, and has a good shot. He can be quite good defensively too. Unfortunately he's either playing with terrible line mates (which is a problem as he isn't the most dynamic player and seems to have confidence issues) or when he's paired with better ones he looks lost/too cautious. He also has that typical European softness/laziness to his game (he should really play harder and throw his body around more).

Erik Christensen had most of the tools as can be seen here but he never really broke out in the NHL.
