Growing up and why?

I was number 98 because no one dared be number 99 due to respect for Gretzky.
I was always just 1 away from Gretzky.
I use 98 for every sport I play now.

Also I have yet to see anyone in the NHL wear number 98. I tend to stay away from the usual numbers. 4,9,19...etc

I wore either 17, 7 or 77 because when I was assigned number 17, I scored 20 goals that season in soccer. So ive worn either of those three numbers for the rest of my soccer career :P

If I ever was in the NHL I would probably wear 77 or 17

Always been my number in sports. Was the first number I got when playing Little League (assigned at random) and just rolled with it ever since.

I wore #4 when I first started playing because I liked Bobby Orr.

Later on, I was #11 for several years, but I also had #10, #5 and #8 at various times.

I was never too worried about what number I wore, to be honest.

17 or 3

I had 3 most of the time when I was younger. I think it got randomly assigned to me when I was a kid and then I liked it to keep asking for it as I got older.

17 is my birthday (June 17th), I had that for high school and college.

17, 9, and recently, 67.

17 and 9 are from my birthday (September 17th) and 67 was the number Cherepanov used in Rangers prospect camp.

My pre-peewee years we didn't get to choose, but after that I was #10 for 8 years as an homage to Bure (except during practice, when I was #96 as I wore my Bure jersey during them...haha)

Only had #2-16 available when I was younger, I'd usually roll with 10.

These days I'm 57, for Perron.

I grew up using #44 since i like John McIntyre when he played for the Kings. I switched to #71 for no reason at all and then years later Malkin decides to copy me.

12 : my number 1 choice, homage to Eric Staal (same first name, fav player :P ), girlfriend's number for volleyball

7 : always had a vibe for 7, lucky 7 i guess, there was no 12 during my first year, so I picked 7
