What is the league wide goals per game average for this current season?

Scoring is up 0.06 goals-per-game (per team) over last year:

EDIT: But not necessarily at this point last year. Sorry, can't help you with that.

EDIT: Actually, I can. I just tallied the results up to Jan. 9/19 and got 4086 goals in 670 games; 3.05 goals per game per team (so 0.02 below where we are now).

Thanks, I'm pretty sure hockeyreference includes shootout goals in their average though correct?

Yeah, I think you're right. Shootout goals count, but on the other hand OT minutes don't. Defining goals-per-game as goals-per-60 minutes roughly cancels out half the SO goal effect, so the inflation isn't as bad as it looks.
