That's just nonsense re-writing of history. He stunk in two long callups. He had a good camp, but a good camp doesn't (and shouldn't) wipe out 40+ games of dramatic under-performance at the NHL level. You're only playing NHLers half the time.

even while he stunk, he still produced at better rate than half of the forwards on the roster.

And Cleary was as responsible for Nyquist being sent down as Tatar or Emmerton or Andersson or Bert or Sammy or Weiss was. You're just outrage shopping so you can rip Holland and rip Cleary at the same time.

you really, really like to repeat this crap. emmerton and andersson weren't going to clear enough cap space. literally the only reason emmerton was on the roster was his minuscule cap hit. also, ignoring the timing and circumstances, again. everyone knew wings needed to clear space and everyone knew the guys they wanted to get rid of where guys who no one wanted.

It was also a similar rate to Hudler and Filppula's rookie years. The kid's production was fine, we were just overstuffed with inferior crap that Holland couldn't or wouldn't unload.

Mrazek is a much better goalie already than Howard. He gives us a chance to win every night. For every time Howard has given us a chance to win recently he's returned the favor with basically guaranteeing us a loss.

We don't score enough to be able to afford to gamble on a goalie who lets in at least 1 bad goal 80% of the time he gets in the net.

At this point you let the rest of the season play out, as long as Mrazek shows he's fine with a full load we dump Howie on the first taker. There's 39 games left...we only have 7 back to backs. Barring injury to Mrazek he should get 32 games. That'll put him at 60 on the year, more than enough to prove you can handle the load of an NHL starter.

Couldn't agree more. Mrazek gives us a chance to win when we don't deserve it, I don't recall Howard doing that very often in his whole career let alone his first FULL year. The amount of times Howard gets beat cleanly is annoying. I don't feel safe when anyone has an open shot. On the other hand Mrazek is getting side to side in the crease to stop 15 Ovechkin shots in one game. How many do you think Ovie would have scored in that game if Howard was in net?

I hope Howard turns it around, but I don't feel even at his best he is better than Mrazek on his average night. He just provides so much more to us. A compete level that Howard doesn't have, a breakout pass that some of our D-Men don't even have, a strong mental will that will not break if he let's in one goal, a chance to win in a shootout, a chance to steal a game....etc etc etc.

I don't know what Howard's trade value is at this point but I think you have to pick up the phone and see.

Ordinarily, maybe. Here's how crazy goaltending stats have gotten now though:

1) There are 7 goalies with a better GAA than what Kipprusoff led the NHL with in 05-06.

2) There are 19 goalies with a sv % as good or better than the 5th best sv % in 05-06.

Goalie numbers are insane. Mrazek's 10th in GAA and 6th in sv%. He's been awesome, and he won't get a single top 3 Vezina vote.

RH, people like to discuss and argue without checking the facts and stats. But the best point by far.:handclap::yo:
