What if a first time winner won the cup in the 2020 bubble ?

Would there be an asterisk ?

For example, if the Canucks or Sabres won it. Or even the Leafs for the first time since 1967.

We have coaches like Tocchet for example, who openly say that the 2020 playoffs didn't count. It is awfully convenient for all involved that a team who won recently won that "cup."

I swear if the Canucks won it, we'd never hear the end of it about how it was a pseudo cup and didn't really count. But if plucky Buffalo won it, they'd get full marks for it.

Every team in the playoffs that year still had the same chance to win the Cup as any other playoff team. Just because the format changed, doesn't change that fact.
