Or with Cousins.

Voracek-Giroux-Simmonds
Read-Couturier-BSchenn
Laughton-Cousins-Konecny
VdV-Bellemare-Umberger

If Umberger gets bought out, then there's another open spot in the top 12.

On defense they may keep Alt on the team to avoid exposing him to waivers.

MDZ-Gudas
Provorov-Medvedev or Streit
Schultz-Ghost
Alt

Read in our top 6 again is vomit inducing.

I'd love to see

Laughton - Coots - Konecny
Read - Cousins - B Schenn

I'm starting to wonder if Lindblom is getting pretty close to being ready. Reading Appleyard's reports on him, and the reaction from the WJC's, it seems like he is really making great progress. I'm guessing he will need a year in Lehigh Valley though?

I'd like to see Leier take Umberger's place if at all possible, or Read's otherwise. I haven't really seen either of those two do anything at all in quite some time and Leier at least has loads of pace.

I think Provorov and Konecny have the best chance because they aren't eligible for the AHL. I think Morin starts the year with the Phantoms, and (cap permitting) is a call up. Sanheim probably spends the year in the AHL unless he is absolutely dominating, but even then he might not be able to fit in with the cap. Konecny will go back to juniors if they don't think he's put enough muscle on yet, and I think that's likely.

I think if we were many other teams, Konecny and Provorov would already be on our roster or be definites for next year. But we have Hextall at the helm and unless they're 100% ready for the NHL we wont see them.

So I hope they have a huge off season and are ready next year. They both are guys that are obviously more physically and mentally mature than most 18-19 year olds so I think there could be a chance.

Cousins will probably be on the team if he's not moved. Maybe Leier as a call up that turns permanent. Would love to see Morin get in the lineup at some point. Hopefully he forces the issue at the start of next season.

Hagg should start seeing more time in the NHL hopefully as a call up. Sanheim is definitely going to the AHL and I'm okay with that. Because when he's ready he's gonna be a revelation. Matthews will be on the third line but id like to see him on Giroux's wing. Laine might need another year before coming over and dominating.

Konecny is too polished to gain much from the AHL, same with Provorov.
Leier, Cousins and Straka (up or out) are likely to make it, depends who we bring back, but Leier on the 4th line, Cousins with Laughton, Straka on the third line. Morin may make the team if he keeps improving, if they move some veterans you'll know he's ready. Sanheim will start at Allentown, but I wouldn't bet on him being there in January.

I'm pretty confident that both Schenns are headed out of town by next season, B Schenn has more value in a trade than he has to this team.

If B. Schenn + L. Schenn are moved we need a strong Lw.
I'd keep Brayden though.

Voracek--Giroux--Simmonds
Schenn--Couturier--Konecny
Laughton-Cousins--Read
White--Bellemare--VandeVelde

Del Zotto--Gudas
Medvedev--Provorov
MacDonald--Gostisbehere

Schenn is not a LW, he's a decent but not great C and a fairly good but limited RW. I'd like to move him for a LW.

B.Schenn is invisible everywhere except when he plays on Couts' RW. keep him there, he's useless everywhere else.

Provo should be a lock for next year. he should've made the team this year but there was a logjam on D. Streit and L.Schenn should be gone by the deadline, maybe Medvedev too. it leaves Ghost, Provo, MDZ, Gudas, MacD, Schultz and (possibly) Morin as the top 7 for next year.
