Asumming the salary cap will be 80, and they keep eberle, and rnh, as they are on contract. this puts the team at 79.
Hall (6) - Drasaitl (6) - Eberle (6) (18 M)
Pouliot (4) - Mcdavid (9) - ??? (entry level contract - 1) (14 M)
??? (3) - RNH (6) - ??? ( entry level contract - 1) (10 M)
??? (1 ) - ??? (1 ) - ??? ( 1) (3 M)
??? ( 1) (1 M)
that's 46 M in forwards
i believe the current league average is 40M
if you're going to go this route though, you probably spread your depth out more, and never play your 4th line
Hall - Draisaitl
McDavid - Pouliot
RNH - Eberle
you should have a 2 guys in there on entry level deals with them, a 3 M veteran grinder, and then plugs from the farm on cheap deals for the rest.
The D is tricky. does nurse warrent a leap of faith contract or a bridge contract? I would hope his play warrants that he can be a number 1 and they lock him long term.
Klefbom is a bit of a saving grace, he should be logging 25 min/night with nurse by then.
The number 5 guy (which could end up being reinhart, you would want a guy that can play up the line up for injuries etc, so you pay 3M for someone like that)
If your number 4 RH shot ends up being a young entry level contract guy who had good future offensive potential, you can shelter him and doesn't need to play 20+ minutes, which gives more to the number 5.
Klefbom (4.2) - Nurse (6 - hopefully he's earnt that long term) (24 min a night)
Sekera (5) - ??? (RH Shot D) (4M) (20 min/night)
Reinhart (3) - ??? (1.5) (16 min/night)
??? (1) - ??? (2) (press box)
26.7 M in D
goalies
??? (5)
??? (1.3)
6.3 in goalies
