Been spinning this one a lot. We're truly going through another golden age for traditional heavy metal.

The Mekons have apparently been around forever and with a largely unaltered lineup. I didn't know much about them. Lester Bangs talked them up in an old review I was reading. They've flown under the radar for almost 40 years, after emerging in the 70s at the dawn of the punk movement. They've got an impressive back catalogue which includes punk, rock, folk, alt-country and experimental.

I like this song, which seems to deviate from their usual full frontal attack. It's dreamy and has an ethereal vocal. (1:45-2:08 = happy pixie dance)
