What are the boys going to spend their Stimulus Checks on?

The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday voted to pass a bill to increase the $600 stimulus checks to $2,000, with 275 members voting for the bill and 134 voting against it. The bill received the needed two-thirds majority of the members voting to pass in the House.

But it faces an uncertain future in the Senate, where a two-thirds majority is also needed in order for the bill to head to President Trump's desk. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has not indicated whether he will bring a vote to the floor on the larger checks.

Senator Bernie Sanders, a supporter of $2,000 checks, called for McConnell to bring the vote to the floor. He tweeted that if McConnell doesn't bring a vote to the floor, then he will object to the vote to override Mr. Trump's veto of the defense funding bill. While Sanders can't stop the veto override from happening, he can filibuster it past New Year's Day — which would cause a major headache for the GOP.

While Republicans resisted efforts by their Democratic colleagues to approve a coronavirus relief package with a $1 trillion price tag, a growing number of GOP senators have announced their support for the increased direct payments, including Georgia's two Republican senators who are on the ballot in a pair of runoff elections January 5.

Senator Kelly Loeffler took to Twitter earlier Tuesday to announce her backing for the $2,000 payments, saying, "I agree with @realDonaldTrump — we need to deliver $2,000 direct relief checks to the American people." Senator David Perdue quickly followed, tweeting, "President @realDonaldTrump is right — I support this push for $2,000 in direct relief for the American people."

Funny how they were both against this just last week.

Wonderful news....if you have direct deposit the $600 has already begun to be deposited in bank accounts :yo: Paper checks start going out today as well. Remember, spend it wisely & be grateful for every cent of it.

McConnell dashes hopes for $2,000 coronavirus relief checks in standalone bill

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday again rebuffed a push for the Senate to take up a bill increasing coronavirus relief checks to Americans from $600 to $2,000, saying instead that the increased direct payments would remain linked with nixing a legal shield for internet companies and creating a commission to examine election integrity.
"Here is the deal," McConnell said in remarks on the Senate floor. "The Senate is not going to split apart the three issues that President Trump linked together just because Democrats are afraid to address two of them."
