The Capitals draft:

First, the Caps selected left wing Tim Kennedy in the sixth round (181st overall)--in front of Buffalo--and promptly traded him to the Sabres for a sixth-round draft pick in 2006. Then, Washington added Russian defenseman Viktor Dovgan in Round 7 (209th), only to have the NHL declare the selection invalid. While the club apparently has evidence to prove Dovgan is in fact older than advertised--and subsequently eligible--the matter is likely headed to arbitration. The club should have avoided this mess.

The trade of Kennedy was interesting . . ... McPhee is really stock piling those 2006 draft picks.
