There lies the issue. We don't have any kids in the minors who can be challenged for top 9 minutes and can produce yet. Lupul back should force him further down the lineup. Here is what they should role top 9. Well some form of it. You can swap Santa and Komo around but basically that top 9. NO need for Clarkson in the top 9 and to see any PP time.

I agree but anywhere from 1-3 of those forwards is likely gone by the deadline.

Clarkson will likely see his minutes increase for the rest of this season as some bodies get moved out. Next season some guys like Holland, Nylander and possibly all of Leivo, Brown and Panik + some UFA additions should hopefully push Clarkson into being no more than a 4th line fixture.

It still makes me sad that we used a CBO on a useful player (Grabovski) just so we could sign Clarkson to an albatross of a deal that will hamper this franchise for the next half decade.

After we bought him out he had no problem getting 3M a year, and one season later he has another long term deal at 5M.

Can't believe we couldn't get SOMETHING for him instead of wasted money
