I'll have to check this out. Just finished watching Rome and really enjoyed it.

Does it have the politics like Rome does or is it more of an action adventure show?

More action than Rome but elements of politics and trying to climb the ladder, schemes and plans that sometimes work and sometimes backfire spectacularly. It’s about gladiators where Rome was about soldiers.

Tried for a second time to watch Killing Eve. This time I managed to watch the second season after stopping after season 1 a few years back.

And that's where I'm going to stop for the last time.....

Never got they hype. Boring as hell, and not nearly as "scandalous" as the fan girl reviews made it out to be. Acting was good but that was it.

Next!

It’s far from the highest end of high end shit - the Sopranos, Rome, Mad Men and the Wire, but it’s entertaining. That first season finale was insane though.

That dont bother me as long as im entertained. I thought The Withcer series was entertaining considering i dont know anything about the source material. Did i think it was a good show though? No not really.

The Wire was something ive been meaning to watch as well. Havent seen it yet. Maybe thats what i'll throw on next after Peaky Blinders.

It's about 100 times better than Peaky Blinders. Which I gave up on in the second or third season.

Yeah ive heard nothing but good things about it. Im enjoying Peaky might be a little biased because i love shows on gangsters during the 20s but it does seem a little too condensed at times and poorly written. Theres no continuity (i think i used that word right) from season to season and its a little annoying.

The Wire is on my list of shows to watch as well. Ive heard people say its one of the best shows theyve seen but starts to decline after the first couple seasons.
That is completely untrue. Season 4 is probably the best season imo. Season 5 maybe dips a bit but not near as much as some people let on. I'd honestly take any season of The Wire over any season of any other show. And I've watched a ton of series.

One thing about the Wire is you will like the bad guys and the good guys weren't strictly on the straight and narrow. You will love the baddest bad guy on the show.. The wire is excellent, it stands up to the test of time with soundtrack and the use of pagers..

Watched MI: Ghost Protocol last night for this first in forever and it was ok id say. The entire movie felt like one big action scene which im not a fan of. I still think Mission Impossible is my favorite because it felt like an actual spy movie compared the the rest. Id say the 3rd one comes in 2nd with the MI:2 being my least favorite. Still havent seen the newest one yet though.

I have now watched all 15 series of Taskmaster and each one was great, a few outright brilliant.

Weegartown
some TV shows I have enjoyed this year

Special Ops: Lioness - Very mature spy thriller series where an American spec ops unit dedicated to inserting woman operatives into terrorist cells by having them befriend the target's wife or daughter. I loved everything Tom Clancy growing up so spy stuff is my jam. There's a lot of badly done espionage thrillers. Or more commonly corny action disguised as international intrigue. This isn't that, tense and gritty with great performances from the three female leads(Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldana, Laysla De Oliveira).

Poker Face - I f***ing love Natasha Lyonne. Low key the androgynous icon of our time. Gotta be either her or Tilda Swinton. In this show she plays a drifter that has the superpower to be able to tell when someone is lying. Naturally she frequents casinos. The main plot is that she works for a casino boss who murders someone and she is a loose end. She travels the country on the run and each episode is in an unlikely position to solve a murder with her gift. Really just a fun ridiculous show that offers more depth than you think it would. Writing is quality.

I remember the first season of Russian Doll being really good when I watched it a while back. Trying to keep track of what I've been watching lately...

- Loki, season 2.
- The Mandalorian, getting started on season 3 (The Apostate).
- The Bear, which has a great cast. I've watched the first five episodes.
- The Dropout, another series with an impressive cast, including Amanda Seyfried in the leading role. I've watched the first three episodes so far.
- Rewatching Band of Brothers.

Super Mario World.
Animated series from the early 9os. Looks like the same artwork from the earlier Mario Bros. Super Show, but they had replaced Lou Albano and some of the other voice actors.
The episodes were bundled with a Captain N series. And in one of the episodes I watched, there was a cameo by a Larry Bird simulation (that didn't look or sound like Bird). But they must've been promoting a Bird' NES game..

Based on another post from the Our Flag Means Death thread, I feel compelled to give a recommendation to What We Do In The Shadows on FX/Hulu.

One of my favorite "newer" comedies around and I've rewatched it several times. Just finished its fifth season. It has a bit of a sluggish start but after a few episode it takes off and keeps improving every season.
