I never said that spreading revenues around would make mathematics work differently. I said it in response to: "nothing here that limits the top 6 owners from their own stupidity and raising market value"

If you want to stop the top revenue owners from outspending the others, all you have to do is make sure that all owners have equal revenues. That ensures no competitive advantage due to revenues.

They tried that in Russia for awhile.

If my employer decreases my wages, he is not taking money out of my pocket, because it was never my money to begin with. Now, if I don't think my employer is treating my fairly, I can look for another job that will pay me better...as can the players, of course...
If you leave your employer, are you prohibited from seeking employment at the 29 other companies that offer the highest salaries in your field?

If you spat on your boss at Subway, you'd better apply at a Quizno's instead of another Subway.

100% revenue sharing would take away the incentive to maximize local revenues. That's not an idea that will ever be endorsed, nor should it be.

You offered up revenue sharing to the question "How does this stop the bleeding". The bleeding is the collective losing of a billion+ dollars over the last whatever number of years.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but here is my original response. You'll see that the quoted text attributes the cause of the bleeding would be limiting the "top 6 owners from their own stupidity and raising market value."

Exactly. It would be a solution -- a bad solution that puts 100% of the burden on the owners and produces a bad system.

Expecting the owners to make all the concessions is nonsense. Expecting the players to make all the questions is also nonsense. But some believe the latter is a good idea.

Your point would be...?

Anti-Socialist rhetoric does not do the People, the Party, or yourself any good.

100% revenue sharing with zero incentive to improve your own market vs NBA, MLB, and NBA is the way to go, as long as the players and their dogs do not have to suffer.

Is this directed at Weary or me?

If it's me then you misread what I said.

I think he's just making a joke that 100% sharing is a socialist ideal and by critizing that idea you are anti-socialist. I don't think he's trying to criticize your opinion.

Thanks man. :)

100% revenue sharing is best left in China.

This is what I said above:

So you misread what I said.

As far as the political insults, please read the faq/posting rules.

Thank you.

I don't find making personal political insults to be funny at all.

CBA business aside. The WHA reportedly either has or is close to having lease agreements in Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Dallas and Quebec City. They're also likely to have franschises in Omaha and Atlantic City (I don't know if that will work out...). They're aiming for 10 franchises and given that they're already playing games in Hamilton, I bet that ends up being one. Vancouver and Toronto could follow the same logic. Quebec, Hamilton, Toronto and Atlantic City make up one division while the Western teams make up the other.

Just some guesses on that last part.

Edit: I forgot Indianapolis as a place where they're reportedly gonna have an agreement. So scratch Toronto or Atlantic City.

Any word on how these fantastic leases are progressing?? I'd hate to find out that season tickets were all snapped up before I even realized they were on sale.

Read this closely: The players and the union are thinking WHA as a second option, an option IF the league refuses to negotiate again, like they did for most of the dispute.

Seriously, have some common sense.

Would it have been a better option if the league actually existed outside dreamworld??

I would be honored to be associated with this fantastic league and it's fabulous owners, players, mascots and arenas. As a matter of fact I believe I'll start saving to buy the league the next time it is for sale.

In honour of Mike Modano, I think Dallas WHA franchise should have this for their mascot.

I think a white elephant would be more appropriate, but that's just me.
