Believe me, I'd be super depressed no matter where we'd hypothetically relocate to, but I could stomach Vegas more than QC given a lot of their behavior. As for us posting there, it wouldn't be a canes relocation thread if they hadn't started it to begin with. Its not like we went over there and started it.

I don't know the credibility rating of local Quebec radio hosts, sorry. But apparently the guy who made the "next week" comment has broken major stories before.

I'm actually more worried about Fugu, the mod at the BoH who doesn't seem to have a dog in this fight, commenting about how they heard news but couldn't confirm anything yet.

Apparently a radio guy just said he has good sources. That's as close to credible as I've found.

It is, of course, April Fool's Day, but supposedly he insisted it's no joke. My French isn't good enough to listen for myself.

I feel like it has been assumed all this time anyway that a move would take place in the 2017 offseason, not this year.

People are always free to speculate wildly. The only actual data on the table right now is Mario Roy asking the NHL brass a very direct question, and the NHL brass answering very directly.

Well I guess if the team were to ever move I could at least end my constant mental tug of war of whether I want to move back to Raleigh. As silly as it sounds the Canes are one of the biggest factors that tempts me to come back.

The rumors have been going on a while, but just in the past few days the QC twitter vultures have been buzzing much more so than normal. While I'd also love to see GMRF or (gulp) Waddell, come out and shoot down any rumors, I'd think they don't have the time or patience to squash any and every time something derogatory to the team trends on Twitter, especially considering the sources of the rumors being some idiots on the radio in QC, no reputable sources have yet weighed in or even touched on rumors AND the fact that it's April Fool's Day...

Thanks, I wasn't sure about the history of the rumors all that much. I heard them on and off before. I just want to look forward to this great young team moving on, and developing into a potential cup winning team. This season has been great!

Same here. Vegas too but I think that's an absolute lock to get an expansion team regardless. I'll be back to being strictly an NCAA fan 5 minutes after it's announced if it happens. 5 more minutes after that I resign.

I'll go to being a Railhawks STH. I'd feel better about that move if the MLS seemingly gave enough of a **** about this market to think about putting a team here rather then putting one in Miami and a second team in NYC.

Same here. I like the Rangers too, but its not the same. At the very least, I'd be taking a very long hiatus from hockey and the nhl, if not a permanent one.

Since we're on this subject, this is me as well. I have other interests that I push to the side for hockey's sake. I'd probably still play, but can't see myself watching another team. Maybe I'd start following an NCAA team, but that'd be hard to figure out because I don't have even a tenuous connection to any of them. North Dakota, BC, BU, Michigan, Cornell, Harvard, it's all the same to me.

My best guess is I'd find comfort in the arms of the Panthers. They grew on me during my time in Charlotte and now I'm at the point where I catch most of the games. I just don't get involved with team news, message boards, etc. like I do with the Canes.
