Weissbach is a winger...Seven....Seven bottom pairing d-men.
I know it's a Monday and I may be a little slow on the uptake, but what does signing a 25yo RFA depth forward have anything to do with seven bottom pairing d-men? I see no connection whatsoever.Seven....Seven bottom pairing d-men.

I like that the front office is pushing these guys on show it deals to potentially earn the 13th/14th forward spot. I dont expect Weissbach/Murray/Rousek (2 yr deal) to all be here NEXT year, but having them here now gives Rochester some good talent and AHL vet leadership, as well as some good depth in cases of callup.
It also gives them options as well as they have a little of every flavor (sans enforcer) in Rochester. They could in theory plug and play all different rolesOne thing the good health of their forwards until late in the season did was hold up getting another look at 2nd year Weissbach's 2-way commitment or if Murray's apparent nudge in foot speed make it at the NHL level. Rousek got his nibble, both Weissbach and Murray were good enough at times that they should have had a few NHL games as well. Even if they don't catch on with Buffalo, it'd be cool to see them bubble up to NHL roles, especially after the timelines with both being so long.
He doesn't have enough pro seasons to be claimed. He is waiver exempt.Does he have to clear waivers?
