Really not sure that Zava himself is supposed to be a storyline, as opposed to a means for Jamie and Roy's relationship getting stronger.

I am loving the Zlatan Ibrahimović inspiration for that character though.

It is definitely a tool within the story... but it is clear they are setting things up for Zava to undermine Ted's leadership where Jamie will become the saviour for Ted.

I mean...yeah. I've always found that, w/r/t Ted Lasso, they've usually done a good job at obvious set-ups and not-so-obvious set-ups.

So like Rebecca/Sam in S2...I think it was obvious that they were red-herring'ing Ted/Rebeca, but I wouldn't have thought it was obvious that they were setting up Rebecca/Sam.

Or even Nate's storyline. I think it was obvious they were tearing him down in S2, but I don't think it was obvious that they were going to have him do what he did in the finale. Not sure if I'm explaining it right. Once he was getting more cocky and dick-ish, I expected him to go from protagonist to antagonist, but I didn't expect him to source Ted's anxiety attack to Crimm or the final meeting w/ Ted or leaving for West Ham. Was just expecting different levels of his turn.


That all said...I do think we're building to Ted/Rebecca, and yes I'd say it's obvious we're getting to Jamie being Ted's savior...after all he was Ted's downfall at the end of S1

So long as they somehow find a way to get Sassy to show up, I'm fine with whatever they do.
