Each QB is different. Some QBs even with 30 starts in college are not nfl ready. Others With under 20 are.

Smith had 39 starts at WV with 1,465 pass attempts. Had the reps coming into the league but was regarded as immature for the QB leadership requirements.

Definitely, even including guys with better pedigrees and higher draft statuses, it is nice to see a guy persevere and finally break through, hell, had Drew Lock not gotten the Covid in preseason Geno might not have even gotten this chance

Hot take: Derrick Carr will be the Jets starting QB next season.

They won't be bad enough to tank but at the same time i really don't see Wilson being the guy long term.

Naw, send his ass to Houston where he can be a sack machine like his brother.

Mariotta spent 2 seasons as a backup for the Raiders before getting another chance with Atlanta. He still hasn't developed much of a passing game. Heavy run team and he does have a couple of good weapons in London and Pitts.

Realistically, going to be very few Smith type scenarios that end up playing out.
