Blake Barnett, the Alabama Crimson Tide's second-string quarterback, has left the program and intends to transfer, according to a report from AL.com.

Barnett, a redshirt freshman, started the Tide's season-opening game against USC before he was pulled in favor of Jalen Hurts. Barnett, a former five-star product from California, appeared in three games and completed 11 of 19 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns.

Sure seems that a lot of high end talent from CA has disappointed the last, oh 6-7 years.

Houston is -30.5 here against UConn/ I am tempted to take a gamble on the Huskies lol

Also, ECU is -3.5 against UCF. Not sure why that number is so small, the Knights suck.

/me waits patiently for Gene to tell me that we're not much better etc

....kid who was a Buckeye fan his whole life de-committs when he realizes that he would likely never play QB there.

I am rooting for him no matter where he ends up. Gotta feel for him

Yes, it really has been six years since Wisconsin and Michigan met on the football field. That these two successful Big Ten programs have gone so long without playing is a product of two division realignments (remember the Legends and Leaders?) and simply bad fortune for college football fans. It was so long ago that Badgers head coach Paul Chryst, then the school's offensive coordinator, had to ponder what happened when last the schools met.

(WBRC) -
Tim Williams, a key player on the University of Alabama football team’s defense, was arrested on a gun charge, according to authorities.

Williams was arrested 2 a.m. Thursday morning by campus police in the parking lot of the Publix location on University Boulevard. He faces a misdemeanor charge of carrying a pistol without a permit.

Two officers who smelled burned marijuana in the area approached the Chevy Impala where the scent was coming from, according to authorities.

Williams told officers that the car was his. Another person was in the driver's seat at the time.

Officers searched the car and recovered "a clear twist plastic bag holding marijuana in the center console."

A Glock 41 pistol was also found under the driver's seat.
