I wonder who blinks first, the NHL or NFL?

The NHL has had something like 63 players in protocol this week alone and more are popping up by what feels like by the hour. The NFL is just as bad.

I still say the best course of action is to put a halt on games for a week, let all the positive cases burn themselves out and then come out with heavy restrictions ala 2020.

People are correct in saying omicron isn't going anywhere but these leagues have shown they can manage it pretty well if they want to.

Herbert needs to learn to throw the ball with some touch, not every pass needs to be shot out of a rocket launcher.

Really easy decision to go for it as long as you think your 4th and goal from the 1 play has >42% (3/7) chance of succeeding. Considering 2 point conversions are up in the high 40% range, and LA has a good offense, so I'd say that'd be a decent assumption. They just didn't execute.

4th down fail. Mahomes mishandles the ball, they had the play.

What the hell was that?

Why are teams allergic to 3 points?
Analytics. All of these plays near the goal line the analytics say to go for it. (The 4th down bot on twitter is a good place to go if you want to see the numbers).

Part of the thinking on a lot of them is that even if you don't score, you're more likely to be the next team to score when the opponent has to start at their own 2 as opposed to their own 25 - although obviously this didn't come into play on the LAC decision at the end of the half - that was strictly an expected points evaluation (and the correct one unless you think LAC had < 42% chance to convert the 4th and goal)

Teams still think you need touchdowns right now to beat the Chiefs right now. The way their defense has been going, they should be taking points when they can get them.

It sounds a little weird but the Chiefs may need this one more than the Chargers. Their tiebreakers are terrible and they have the tougher last 3 games - drop 2 of 3 vs PIT, at CIN, and at DEN and they're sitting at the back of the tiebreaker line at 10-7. Might not get them in.
