Rumor: Weber could miss whole 2021-22 season

I've seen a few trade proposals where Nashville benefits from acquiring Weber - can someone explain how they benefit if he retires with Nashville as opposed to Montreal. Not clear on what's the difference

I honestly think the recapture penalty will be voided if he does retire officially after next season once his yearly salary drops to 1M. The contract was an offer sheet signed 2 CBAs ago IIRC, the league will vote to void it IMO.

League came arbitrarily not follow rules that they negotiated in the last CBA because, why not. That’s not how it works.
