After a terrible start to the season, our team has willed their way to the best post-season on earth. It was the antithesis of easy, but this team has embodied hard work, grit, and guts down the stretch. They have answered when the pressure has been on, and ultimately have given a city desperate for a post-season run, exactly what they needed. Win or Lose this season has been a great stepping stone for this young team that hopefully will eventually lead to a Stanley Cup in Philadelphia within the next couple of years.

WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS! Celebrate!

Giroux. Ghost. Simmonds.

Shoutout to the infamous Appleyard for calling it at 94 points.

I really hope Ghost would win the Calder. Easily the biggest impact totals of all the candidates.

This has been amazing to watch.

Also: I've lurked here, mostly, for the past few years. And Appleyard is legend.

94!

Tbf I actually had 93 from about game ~40 of the season! Then changed it to 94 for Flyers with ~10 games left due to ROW really.

Though I was still technically correct as the team with the least points in East who got in were at 93. ;)

Dutch freak, hahaha

English freak actually... though I did live in NL for some time and love the country. (and will say if anyone ever gets the chance to visit Utrecht it is maybe my favourite city! Great place to live, great place to visit!)

I actually changed my flag to NL when the site went weird and had no avatars for a while so people changed their flags to be unique... and there were 2-3 other people with English flags and at that point I don't think DutchDennis was posting much so I did not see any other Dutch flags around!

Appleyard is the Nate Silver of hockey lol

What an incredible run!!

As far as im concerned, we are ahead 1 year in our path to being a contender.

Simmonds, Ghost, Mason and Giroux really carried us

Huge step forward in Schenn and Couturiers games this season.

We will be a 100 point team next season with a healthy Del Zotto and Provorov on our D and 1 or 2 tweaks to our Forwards.

No expectations for them to beat the Caps. I just want a fun hard fought series!

I hope the flyers just make it interesting. They are playing with house money so to speak so I hope they play loose.

I remembered you talking about playing rugby and some other bits that would be attributable to an English guy, but the flag always got me nervous so I just thought **** it chances are 50/50

It was our pleasure Lol!

Good luck with the rebuild over there. Will be a huge draft for Vancouver.

Thanks :yo: Good luck in the playoffs. I can honestly say I'll be cheering for you guys to totally upset Washington. Would be amazing to see. Go underdogs!

I must say I always felt more 'at home' in NL even though my Dutch is not great! More my kind of lifestyle... more relaxed people in general and less 'rat-race/stress' going about! Though I always did worry that if there was a large fire the country would simply go up in smoke due to the excessive amounts of hair gel used in NL!

The overall lack of Cider, Holland's pies, Cricket and Rugby League there was also slightly distressing!

I'm cautiously optimistic about the playoffs to be honest.

I think they're much better than how the played the last 4 games, but not quite as dominant as they were during the hot streak over the last few weeks... Somewhere in between.

They usually play pretty well against the Caps so it's definitely a winnable series, although we're surely the significant underdogs.

The biggest factor, in my eyes, is if they can kind of catch their breath before the playoffs start since their recent schedule has been so insane with so many games and such little rest. Hopefully they rest people tomorrow, toss a call up in, Weal, Umberger, Medvedev, and whatever else it takes to make sure they're ready for next week.

This reminds me of the 07 phillies. A crazy run down the stretch that made making the playoffs feel like the championship.

really think they have been tired and stressed for the last few games...hopefully we come out loose and rejuvenated.

we at least match them in goal.

if coots can get under ovi's skin and we play our "a" game this will be tough for the caps.

we are just the kind of team right now that can frustrate a team like washington. they have so much to lose... if we can hang with them for a while they will get tight...cant wait.

**** i love playoff hockey!

The Flyers have nothing to lose, so they should play loose. Would love to walk in and win Game 1. The Caps haven't played any meaningful games or faced adversity all year. Sometimes teams that coast in crap the bed in the playoffs. The Flyers have played 40 playoff games already so they are as battle ready as they can be.

On top of everything else, the Flyers aren't afraid of the Caps' size advantage. It's almost like, the more you hit us the better we play.

Resiliency and determination are the main characteristics of this team. They don't give up, even when they should. It should be fun.

So many fans rooting for the Flyers. That's great to see. I think the west esp is behind us.

As Curufinwe said, we'll deserved. These guys worked their ***** off. Hextall didn't sell at the deadline to give us a chance. He called it right... again
