The 82 WCF against Chicago was so terribly called that the coach put a towel on a players' stick and waived it in the air as a surrender, the next game 20 thousand people came to the game waving kitchen towels. There's a statue of ex-coach Roger Neilsen waiving the white towel flag outside of Rogers Arena.

IIRC the Canucks had a goal disallowed and then had 5 consecutive penalties called on the team, the Canucks would win the next 3 games to make it to the finals for the first time.
