Oilers come out like gang busters and dominate the first period for two goals while giving up a real shitter to make it a 2-1 game. L.A comes back in the second with two goals. Down a goal in the third Edmonton dominates again to no avail and lose 3-2.

Oilers and Media calmly say they're playing great hockey and it's not over. They just need to put together a solid 60 minutes. Nothing to see here.

Fact is this is the last team I'd want to see in a close game with 10 mins left in the third of a playoff game. They've got their assess handed to them in this scenario 7 straight f***ing games in the playoffs. They're playoff chokers that can't bear down when the stakes are on the line. That's the reputation they've earned. That's the reputation they'll keep until they prove otherwise.

So the only thing I'll say to these guys is go out and prove me wrong. Good team that doesn't have it when it counts.

Good ol definition of insanity. Doing the same shit every year and expecting different results. I'm going to say f*** Holland and f*** Smith in advance of the game hopefully instead of after as usual.

I have zero confidence in this team, I said it before the series and it's even more entrenched now. I was hoping (faint hope) that the way they played the last month of the season would translate to the playoffs and show this to be a different team but what I saw in Game 1 was the same exact team of playoff failures past. Carried by Special Teams, absolutely nothing from their depth players, weak at 5 on 5, weak on the boards and in front of the net, and goaltending costing them in the key moments. Same....exact....script.

It seems like a lot of you think they'll bounce back and win this series and maybe they will (on paper, they really SHOULD) but they've destroyed me mentally, I fully expect them to lose until they prove they can win.

Welcome to the dark side, friend.

I already feel apathetic about this series, and about the team. I'll be honest, I actually briefly dozed off in the third because the Oilers were generating nothing and woke up to see the Kings had taken the lead. I felt nothing. No surprise, no disappointment, nothing. Nothing in game 1 convinced me that this team is different from years past. Another game that was there for the taking in the late stages and they blew it because once again they couldn't generate any offense in the third period and the depth was once again non-existent.

I have a good feeling about this one. Feels like it's been two years now come playoff time that I've woken up at around 6 AM (CET) to watch the last part of the Oilers game just to be in pain once I'm off to work... I'm expecting to wake up to a comfortable 4-1 lead :)

hahaha. If I had a dollar for every time someone said this, only to then see the Oilers lose.

Heard it’s fantastic!!

Ugh I’m nervous for the game tonight

We lose this and the series is likely over
I'm not nervous at all oddly enough. I'm calm as a May morning right now. I was furious after we lost game 2 to the Jets. I turned my TV off, tossed my remote on the carpet and went to bed knowing that there was no chance they were going to win and were likely to get swept. I'm rarely right about anything but was last year.

I mean... The team is better than last year but if we lose game 2 this year again, there's a 90% chance we won't win it. Regardless of what happens, I'm going to keep myself calm either way unlike the previous 2 years.
