Aves chances high no matter what.
They can let in 6 and win.
Or only score 2 and win.
They beat you any way you wanna play.
Aves are on a Cup mission.
Oilers are happy to be in third round.
Oilers will get their Cup .....but not this year

Avalanche win this one. Oilers take game 4. Then Colorado wraps it up at home in game 5.
So it shall be written. So it shall be done.

What's tricky is figuring out how to evaluate a player in a vaccum vs a player in their proper context.

The more you can trust your teammates the more you should play a simple conservative game. If Makar was on a bad team he would constantly be getting asked to do it all himself in the way McDavid often is. When you're on a good team, the right play is usually to just distribute to your teammates. But distributing to your teammates uses different skills than trying to go coast to coast.

It's like being a great warrior vs a great legionary. It takes less skill to be an effective legionary, but the cohort beats the mob of warriors 9/10 times. Even if Connor McSparticus has some early victories against the LA organized militia and the Calgary pretorians (glorified bodyguards), the field army is here. And it will taste victory.

C'mon Oil. Calm the f*** down. Play your game. It's probably too late to turn into the Canes and their suffocating system but what you can do is to beat the Avs to every puck and trust it to the two best offensive players in the world to get you back in it.

Agreed. Hopefully the Avs see the writing on the wall and forfeit the rest of the series after the game. It's a matter of dignity at that point

Don't be silly, they can still win at home. Just forfeit the road games and hope game 7 tilts in your favor. That's what not-Jack-Adams-award-winner Jared Bednar should do.

Are Oiler fans wondering why guys like Shore, Brassard, Broberg aren't getting a start?

Seems like a small shakeup would be in order down 2-0, Yamamoto out, and the defense not exactly performing heroically. Instead PK-waiting-to-happen Kassian gets moved to McDavid's wing.

In McDavids post game comments, he was asked a lot about the Avs negating his breakaway/rush opportunities. He made the comment that the Oilers need to try to generate more scoring chances out of the forecheck.

It was likely a talking point by the coach in tge locker room after the game. And Kassian on the top line is trying to act on this idea. He's out there try to create with the forecheck.

Chances are, Kane targeting guys, especially Makar was another talking point but after game 1.

Unaccustomed to such a loud crowd, the Avs will start the first period in the fetal position, covering their ears. Oilers take advantage and score 12 uncontested goals before the Avs can get some earplugs at intermission. 14-11 final.
Lol Avs haven’t lost on the road these playoffs. Edmonton could barely muster 15 people at their watch party.

Oilers are going down 3-0 tonight. Time for the Avs to put them into their rightful place
